CERTISERV is selected as "Project of the Month" for May 2006 Governikus project awarded by the European eTEN programme

CERTISERV, implemented with Governikus as central security platform, is a project within the European eTEN programme. It has now been appointed "Project of the Month" - an award given to exemplary applications in the fields of eGovernment, eHealth and eLearning.

eTEN is designed to help the deployment of e-services in a trans-European dimension based on telecommunication networks. One of the promoted projects is CERTISERV, coordinated by bremen online services GmbH & Co. KG (bos KG). Aim of this project is to validate and exploit secure e-government services in Europe.
CERTISERV (CERTIfied communication for secure eGovernment SERVices in Europe) has started in March 2005 and is piloted in three European cities together with six partners. CERTISERV has been realised in Bremen (Germany) as well as in Bologna (Italy) and Sheffield (Great Britain). The bos KG as coordinator of CERTISERV provides its middleware Governikus for the implementation of secure and legally binding data transfer in Europe. Besides the three pilot cities Detecon International (Germany), EDS Business Solutions (Germany) and Studio Genghini & Associati, SNG (Italy) are involved as project partners.

Background of eTEN is the Lisbon Strategy for the provision of interactive and secure public services in the fields of eGovernment, eHealth and eLearning, passed in 2000. With CERTISERV and Governikus the bos KG supports the Lisbon Strategy goal to make the "European Union the most dynamic and competitive knowledge-based economy in the world by 2010".
